Medical Training and Early Clinical Development

Dr. Parviz completed his medical training before moving to the United Kingdom, where he entered structured specialist cardiology training and obtained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP, London). His training within the Health Education Yorkshire and Humber deanery included clinical experience at leading NHS cardiac centres, including Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, Leeds General Infirmary, and Chesterfield Royal Hospital, where he developed a strong foundation in acute and interventional cardiology.

Advanced Interventional Fellowship: United Kingdom and Canada

Following specialist training, Dr. Parviz pursued advanced interventional fellowship training at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, UK, followed by London Health Sciences Centre, University of Western Ontario, Canada, where he served as Chief Fellow. During this period, he further developed his expertise in complex coronary intervention, advanced procedural decision-making, and cardiovascular research, contributing to peer-reviewed publications and international cardiology congresses.

Columbia University Medical Center: Advanced Interventional Fellowship, USA

Dr. Parviz completed subspecialty training at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and Columbia University Medical Center under Professor Gregg W. Stone, developing expertise in intracoronary imaging, coronary physiology, complex PCI, atherectomy, and zero-contrast PCI. He also served as a named investigator in major international trials, including ORACLE, PERFORM, and ILUMIEN III.

Clinical Practice: United Arab Emirates

Dr. Parviz has practised in the UAE since 2017, establishing his interventional cardiology practice across major healthcare institutions, including Canadian Specialist Hospital, Kings College Hospital Dubai, and Clemenceau Medical Centre. He currently serves as Head of Cardiovascular Department at Emirates Hospital Group, Jumeirah, where his practice focuses on complex coronary artery disease, chronic total occlusions, heavily calcified lesions, kidney-protective zero-contrast procedures, and advanced coronary assessment.

Global Academic Contribution

Dr. Parviz holds a PhD and MSc by Research from the University of Central Lancashire, with research focused on cardiovascular disease and cardio-renal outcomes.

His academic work spans coronary physiology, intracoronary imaging, complex intervention strategies, and cardio-renal disease. He has published in leading journals including JACC Cardiovascular Interventions, EuroIntervention, the Journal of Invasive Cardiology, and the American Heart Journal.

He remains actively engaged in international cardiology education and clinical advancement and is regularly invited as faculty at major international conferences, including TCT, EuroPCR, Gulf PCR, the Emirates Cardiac Society, and the Pakistan Cardiac Society.
